West Rand to brace themselves for load reduction – several areas affected

Eskom has released a statement saying they will be implementing load reduction on Tuesday night – at least one Rand West City area will be affected.

Eskom will again implement load reduction from 17:00 to 22:00 on Tuesday, March 29 affecting several West Rand areas.

Regarding Mogale City, load reduction is scheduled for Kagiso, Rietvallei and adjacent Lanseria.

Other West Rand areas to be affected include Bekkersdal in Randfontein as well as Fleurhof and Rand Leases in Roodepoort.

Eskom said in a statement that load reduction is necessary to avoid network overloading in high-density areas.

During the load-reduction implementation, customers are urged to switch off all of their electrical appliances to avoid possible damage due to power surges when supply returns. Failure to do so may lead to transformer trips or failures, and damage to household appliances when supply is restored. Please do not report this outage.
