Eskom power cut threat in Rand West City: Mayor to address media

Executive Mayor Gladys Khoza is expected to speak on March 29 on imminent Eskom power cuts that will affect several parts of RWCLM.

The Executive Mayor of the Rand West City Local Municipality (RWCLM), Councillor Gladys Khoza is expected to address the media on Tuesday March 29 about their plans should Eskom follow through on its threat to cut power to several parts of town.

According to the media advisory issued by Caroline Setsiba from the office of the RWCLM Executive Mayor, electricity in some areas like Bekkersdal was suspended already.

The Executive Mayor will provide information about the Eskom issue and the impact it will have on the entire city, and she will outline measures to be undertaken to address the matter.”

The media briefing will be in line with the Mayor’s commitment to ensuring an effective legislative service delivery mandate and enhanced communication strategies in partnership with the media and communities.
