“No one is exempt from the operation at roadblocks; every vehicle must be checked to determine if it was stolen, or if it is transporting illegal drugs or unlicensed firearms, and then searched for possible suspected stolen property. Those found to be breaking the law will be dealt with harshly,” Xaba said.

Lefakane said one person was caught with dagga hidden inside the bonnet of his vehicle.

Xaba thanked and appreciated the efforts and dedication displayed by members when conducting their duties.

We are approaching the Easter holidays when our roads will be busy. Let us help to minimise road fatalities by increasing our visibility through blue light patrols,” Xaba said.
