Mapogo reveals five serious incidents: Housebreaking and theft top the list

Mapogo A Mathamaga Security revealed an increase in crime incidents this past week that occurred in Culemborg Park, Eikepark, Greenhills and Aureus.

It was a relatively busy week for Mapogo A Mathamaga Security’s client base in Randfontein.

Operations manager at Mapogo, Ben Willemse said five incidents were reported for the period between Monday, March 14 and Sunday, March 20.

A breakdown of the incidents:

• Tuesday, March 15 at 15:46 – Housebreaking and theft on Tulbach Avenue, Culemborg Park: Perpetrators forced open two windows and gained entry into the premises. They stole a sound mixer and fled the scene.

• Wednesday, March 16 at 01:33 – Malicious damage to property on Connie Mulder Street, Eikepark: Perpetrators damaged the electric fence wires to gain entry onto the property when the owner noticed them and raised the alarm. The intruders fled the scene without taking anything.

• Thursday, March 17 at 10:41 – Housebreaking and theft on Impala Street, Greenhills: Perpetrators gained entry onto the premises by climbing over the front entrance gate. They forced open the wooden kitchen door, stole a flat-screen television and a laptop computer, and fled the scene in a silver Mazda 323 vehicle.

• Saturday, March 19 at 20:51 – Theft on Audi Street, Aureus: Four perpetrators entered the premises, stole the gate motor and fled the scene.

• Sunday, March 20 at 06:41 – Housebreaking on Bussing Road, Aureus: Perpetrators gained entry onto the premises, and when they forced open the workshop door the alarm was activated. They fled the scene without taking any items.
