Five injured in long-weekend crash between truck and vehicle

Two women and three men were injured when a truck and a vehicle crashed in Westonaria during the long weekend.

Five people were injured when a car and a truck collided at the N12 and R28 intersection in Westonaria on Saturday night, March 19.

ER24 spokesperson Russel Meiring said they arrived at 20:57 to find both vehicles in the middle of the intersection.

“Two women and three men were seen walking around the scene. Medics assessed the patients and found that two had sustained serious injuries while the three others had sustained moderate injuries.

The patients were treated and the two with serious injuries were provided with pain-relief medication before they were transported to Carletonville Provincial Hospital for further care.”

Local authorities were on the scene for further investigations.
