The total number of confirmed Covid-19 cases in Gauteng as of March 14 sits at 1 200 385 with 1 175 428 recoveries and 20 601 deaths.

A total number of 981 people are currently hospitalised in the public (624) and private (357) facilities.

The total number of confirmed Covid-19 cases in the West Rand is at 65 120 with 63 179 recoveries and 1 754 deaths. This translates to a total of 187 active cases.

A total of 9 203 769 Covid-19 vaccinations have been administered in the Gauteng Province as of March 14. The total number of individuals fully vaccinated is 4 645 185.

In the West Rand, which comprises Mogale City, Rand West City, and Merafong City, 640 160 vaccinations have been administered, with 321 783 individuals fully vaccinated.

In the neighbouring City of Johannesburg, 3 852 289 vaccines have been administered with 1 896 008 individuals fully vaccinated.

All persons older than 12 years old are encouraged to visit their nearest vaccination site to receive the jab. It is thought that vaccinating 70% or more of the adult population can minimise the impact of the fourth wave. The Department of Health (DoH) further reminds the public that those who received a two-dose vaccine need to return for their second dose at 42 days. All Gauteng sites, both private and public, accept walk-ins whether people are registered on the EVDS or not.
