A total number of 1 119 people are currently hospitalised in the public (642) and private (477) facilities.

The total number of confirmed Covid-19 cases in the West Rand is at 64 971 with 62 977 recoveries and 1 752 deaths. This translates to a total of 242 active cases.

A total of 9 050 689 Covid-19 vaccinations have been administered in the Gauteng Province as of March 7. The total number of individuals fully vaccinated is 4 603 347.

In the West Rand, which comprises Mogale City, Rand West City, and Merafong City, 629 280 vaccinations have been administered, with 318 913 individuals fully vaccinated.

All persons older than 12 years old are encouraged to visit their nearest vaccination site to receive the jab. It is thought that vaccinating 70% or more of the adult population can minimise the impact of the fourth wave. The Department of Health (DoH) further reminds the public that those who received a two-dose vaccine need to return for their second dose at 42 days. All Gauteng sites, both private and public, accept walk-ins whether people are registered on the EVDS or not.
