Community Policing Forum (CPF) elections held in West Porges

It is official! The following committee members will represent the CPF in Rand West City.

Management of the Randfontein Police and Gauteng Department of Community Safety held elections for the new Community Policing Forum (CPF) committee for five sectors in Randfontein on Tuesday February 2.

According to Sergeant Carmen Hendricks, spokesperson of the police, the purpose of the forum is to establish a working relationship between the community and the police, aiming at and ensuring safety to combat crime in the community.

The following people were appointed CPF committee members: Henry Boyce (Chairperson ); Paul Diutluweng (Deputy Chairperson); Lerato Marumo (Secretary); Gezaan Bothma (Deputy secretary); Rodney Kock (Treasurer) and Tiny Padi (Public Relations Officer).

Khehla Khambule, a representative of the Gauteng Department of Community Safety said those elected will represent the Randfontein region, and undergo training to make sure they’re well equipped to carry out their duties.

Other additional members and their respective sectors are as follows:

Sector 1 – Vusi Ndlovu; Sector 2 – Arthur Solomon and Queen Makhubo; Sector 3 – Matshidiso Manyesa and Laurence Lucas; Sector 4 – Cap Matthews and Morné de Beer; Sector 5 – Audette Ouker and Petro du Toit.

Major General Fred Kekana, the West Rand District Police Commissioner thanked everyone present, and the Department of Community Safety for their support in the elections.

Kekana also thanked everyone who accepted the nomination to serve themselves and the community, and warned that no criminal should be given a chance to thrive.
