Avanté learners bring messages of hope to cancer survivors

Avanté Primary School marked World Cancer Day by cheering up survivors.

Seven learners of Avanté Primary School marked World Cancer Day by visiting and cheering up cancer surviving children at Chris Hani Baragwanath Academic Hospital in Soweto on Tuesday February 15.

Principal of the school, Reginah Marule, said the visit was dedicated to those who were facing the pain of living with the disease, and they were encouraged never to give up on living as they still have their future ahead of them.

“Our learners prepared message such as, ‘Never give up. Give yourselves a chance to see the world again, fight till the end’;

‘Hey fighter, we know it hurts and it is tiring, but stay strong’

‘Cancer can take all our physical abilities, but it cannot touch our mind, heart and soul’; ‘Hey fighters, you are stronger than you think’; ‘Hats off to you, fighters. You are doing an awesome job’ and ‘Cancer may have started the fight but you will definitely finish it’.”
