It was a relatively quiet week for Mapogo A Mathamaga Security with only three incidents being reported for their client base.

Operations manager at Mapogo, Ben Willemse said these incidents were reported for the period between Monday, January 24 and Sunday, January 30.
A breakdown of the crime incidents:
• Wednesday, January 26 at 01:46 – Housebreaking and theft, Amandel Street, Greenhills. Intruders gained access onto the property by breaking the lock on the main gate. They then forced open the garage door and stole an unknown number of items, and fled the premises.
• Wednesday, January 26 at 09:06 – Robbery, Chevrolet Street, Aureus. Thugs entered the premises where they tied up the staff and stole an unknown number of gas bottles from the premises.
• Sunday, January 30 at 16:33 – Theft, Bussing Road, Aureus. Thieves gained entry onto the property without activating the alarm system, and stole wheels from a trailer.
Ben gave the following safety tips:
• Criminals walk around your neighbourhood looking for opportunities to strike and for possible soft targets.
• Never drop your guard and remain vigilant at all times. If something looks out of place report this immediately.
• Have your alarm serviced regularly or when you suspect that it may be faulty as this can reduce unnecessary false alarms.
• Avoid false alarms because they can result in a delayed response time. Criminals use this to their advantage.
