Well-known business goes above and beyond for a neater Homestead Avenue

Pest Control Specialists sprayed weed killer down the whole of Homestead Avenue to kill the weeds and grass that's growing in front of the storm drains.

The Pest Control Specialists recently took it upon themselves to make the town a better place for all through a small initiative.

Director at Pest Control, Michael Grobler, and Group Manager, Hennie van Eck sprayed weed killer along Homestead Avenue on Friday, January 21.

According to Michael, they sprayed the weed killer on both sides along the entire Homestead Avenue so it would kill the grass that blocked the storm water drains.

There are so many weeds and grass inside and in front of the storm water drain inlets that the water can’t run into it, causing the road to become flooded when it rains,” explained Michael.

He added that there are many businesses on Homestead Avenue, and because the area looks untidy it has a negative effect on them.

“We aren’t cutting the grass but hopefully this will help with the problem of the grass and weeds growing into the road and inside the storm water drains.”
