RCA starts their new academic year

Principal of RCA, Dr Chris Ayres, opened the very first assembly session of the year by welcoming parents and guardians, existing and new RCA learners, with the highlight of course being the Grade 1s on January 17.

Management of Randfontein Christian Academy (RCA) said they’re ready to take on the new academic year.

For the Randgate-based private school, classes resumed on Monday, January 17.

Principal of RCA, Dr Chris Ayres, opened the very first assembly session of the year by welcoming parents and guardians, existing and new RCA learners, with the highlight of course being the Grade 1s.

We thank the Lord for all our staff members and learners who have come back – considering the fact we’re living in a pandemic. Many other things could’ve happened, but God has kept everyone safe. Once again, we pray that God guides us as we navigate this year,” said Ayres.

He praised the parents and especially the guardians who have had to step in to guide and be the source of inspiration for children who come from backgrounds or households that were on the brink of collapse.

“They’re valuable and play a significant role,” Ayres added.

Speaking about the effect Covid-19 had on them in the previous year, the principal said they were not impacted that much by lockdown restrictions as their learners were working at their own pace.

Irrespective of the statistics and infections rates, the school will always have a strategy in place to make sure that their academic year isn’t interrupted should government adjust restrictions, he said.
