‘Our church’s doors are open to everyone’

Community members received a church building as gift

After more than a decade of conducting prayer services in a tent, Rock of Miracles Ministries’ church building was officially opened in the Jabulani informal settlement near Randgate on Sunday November 28.

Elated founder of the church Pastor Pauline Mokae said she’s glad that they would be able to minister to those in the area who need it, adding that the larger capacity would benefit them immensely.

Explaining the history, she said in 2010 they approached a sponsor to help them with a building, but a piece of land had to be approved by the Rand West City Local Municipality (RWCLM) first.

“We are very grateful towards Chris Dean, who with the help of his friends and associates managed to give us this gift. Our doors are open to anyone who wants to serve with us,” Mokae said.

Mokae gratefully added that the church comes with needed furniture like tables, chairs and even the sound system. The floor has also been tiled.

Chris, a business owner in Randfontein and the main sponsor of the building, said this gesture was a way for them to give back in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ.

“We initially promised the church that they would get a roofing structure but we had to wait for permission from the municipality. Eventually, six months ago permission was granted. The truth of the matter is that we love Christ so much, we’ve decided to start building a church for them,” Dean said.

Others sponsors are Melanie Dean, Ronnie Reddy, Anna Reddy Marcus, Ranisha Reddy, Louis Barnard and Kendel Visagie-Barnard, Marcel and Collette Ernst, Jacques and Sonia Vermeulen, and Divesh and Keshnie Narsi.
