Two injured in two-vehicle crash on R501

A man and woman were injured when two vehicles collided on the R501 on a rainy Saturday.

A man and a woman were injured during a two-vehicle collision on the R501 in Welverdiend on the far West Rand on Saturday, November 27.

According to ER24 spokesperson Russel Meiring, their paramedics and the Provincial Fire Services arrived on scene at approximately 08:41 and found two light motor vehicles in the middle of the road.

“Several people were found sitting near the cars. Other motorists had stopped and were seen offering first aid to the patients,” said Meiring.

Paramedics assessed the patients and found that two people, a man and a woman had sustained moderate injuries.

Fortunately, no serious injuries or fatalities were found. The patients were treated and thereafter transported to Carletonville Provincial Hospital for further care,” he explained.

Local authorities were on the scene for further investigations.
