Covid-19 vaccine: 448 879 vaccinations administered in the West Rand

A total of 6 715 740 Covid-19 vaccinations have been administered in the Gauteng Province.

A total of 6 715 740 Covid-19 vaccinations have been administered in the Gauteng Province as of November 22. The total number of individuals vaccinated is at 4 326 816 with 3 538 576 individuals being fully vaccinated.

In the West Rand, which comprises Mogale City, Rand West City and Merafong City, 448 879 vaccinations have been administered, with 236 477 individuals fully vaccinated.

In the neighbouring City of Johannesburg, 2 926 647 vaccines have been administered with 1 489 330 individuals fully vaccinated.

All persons older than 12 years old are encouraged to visit their nearest vaccination site to receive the jab. It is thought that vaccinating 70% or more of the adult population can minimise the impact of the fourth wave. The Department of Health (DoH) further reminds the public that those who received a two-dose vaccine need to return for their second dose at 42 days.

All Gauteng sites, both private and public, accept walk-ins whether people are registered on the EVDS or not.
