With R50 000 in cash up for grabs athletes came together at Silverstar on Saturday, October 30 to showcases their bodies.

The competition was a collaboration between DGN Save an African Child and the New Dimensions gym, and was also an Arnold Classic Africa qualifier.

The DGN Save an African Child Initiative is a non-profit organisation that was established in 2011 by professionals who saw the need to help vulnerable groups like women and children with therapy, shelter, skills development, access to primary health services, education, sports, recreation, arts and culture.

The winner of the ladies beach division was Chalte Venter while Christina Pretorius placed first in the ladies bikini division. She was followed by Melindy Jacobs in second, Bianca Rautenbach in third and Hlengiwe Mabaso in fourth place.

Melindy also won the ladies bikini masters and best female athlete.

Isjeanne du Toit placed first in the wellness category and Sabrina Pira was the fit model winner.

In the muscular physique category Ronan Arp placed first, with Sam Khoza and Khulekani Sibiya second and third respectively. Deodat du Plessis placed first in body fitness with Pueza Mqeni second.

In the classic bodybuilding division it was the well-known Bafana Msiwa who placed first followed by Thato Mafoko in second, Alpha Moyo in third, Greg Gina in fourth and Neo Ramasesane in fifth.

The athletic physique category’s first place went to Denga Ledwaba, second was Maikarabelo Maleka, third Sandile Dike, fourth Dawid de Jager, fifth Philemon Moseki and sixth Gift Motlhasedi.

Last in the physique division was the classic physique and here it was Penny Sambo who placed first followed by Kgaugelo Lehong in second, Kevin van den Berg in third, Ugan Martins in fourth, Zander van der Merwe in fifth and Hendrik Viljoen in sixth.

First place for the junior bodybuilders went to Dimpho Lekalakala followed by Greg Gina, Sifiso Masango, Sakhile Mahlangu, Lulu Banze and Molifi Molife in second to sixth place.

Then came the masters bodybuilding and here it was Wesley Saunders who placed first, Isaac Macaringue who placed second, Barcley Kolbie who placed third, Jan Visser who placed fourth, Godfrey Moganedi who placed fifth and Marius van der Berg who placed sixth.

Jan Cilliers took the first place in the senior bodybuilding category followed by Potego Mabelani in second, Wesley Saunders in third, Shawn Masebedi in fourth place, Thomas Wagner in fifth place and Khulekani Sibiya in sixth place.

The overall division winners were Greg Gina, Jan Visser and Wesley Saunders.
