The RPA and its judges for the We Salute You campaign have chosen their Community Hero winner and it’s none other than Enrique Bhana from Women Against Women and Child Abuse (WAWA).
Enrique, 41, has been the centre manager at WAWA for the past five years, and they currently work in Toekomsrus, Mohlakeng, Bekkersdal, Westonaria, Krugersdorp, Muldersdrift and Munsieville.
He explained that he was both shocked and surprised when he won the community hero award, and when he saw the list of nominees in the newspaper it was obvious that many great people had been nominated.
It’s a humbling experience – not just to be the winner, but even to be nominated. It shows that we are doing the right thing, so I must just keep working at it because I’m worth it. I’m very humble for winning,” said Enrique.
