Mapogo response officer sacrifices his life to protect others
A Mapogo A Mathamaga Security armed response officer was killed in the line of duty in West Village, Krugersdorp on Tuesday, the security company said.
Mapogo A Mathamaga Security shared the tragic news of the passing of one of their own in the line of duty, Izak Booysen.
A statement released on the security company’s Facebook page reads, “It is with a heavy heart that the Mapogo A Mathamaga family has lost a true hero. On Tuesday, November 16, 2021 at approximately 19:20, response officer Booysen was attacked by armed assailants and fatally wounded whilst he was stationary in West Village, Krugersdorp. He did what he had the biggest passion for and that was to protect the community.”
They said Booysen was known for being an excellent armed response officer with high standards and values, and he sacrificed his own life to protect others.
“Izak was only 32 years of age but his loyalty and commitment towards the passion of doing his work to the best of his ability were always visible.”
He leaves behind his son and family.
“He will never be forgotten by his colleagues, friends and family. This was not only a heartbreaking loss for his family, but also a sad day for the Mapogo family. We salute you, friend and hero, you will be missed.”
