Make-up, money and modelling in aid of Cast Aways

Another fundraiser during the weekend which yielded R13k has been dubbed a massive success for Cast Aways Animal Sanctuary.

During a fundraiser held in their own backyard in Wilbotsdal on Saturday, November 13, the amount of R13 000 was raised in aid of Cast Aways Animal Sanctuary.

Coordinator of the fundraiser and one of the directors of the sanctuary Gina van Zyl said the event saw a good turnout from animal lovers who wanted to be a part of the good cause.

It was yet another effort to bring relief for more than 200 dogs and 100 cats in our care. One was able to donate cash or food items. We’re just glad that we’ve managed to raise this money and are quite excited that it will go a long way in making sure the animals can be looked after for a while longer,” Gina said.

She added the event was not only about helping animals at their sanctuary but also to show people of Randfontein that they have the animals’ best interest at heart.

“By opening your hearts we can continue to help and rescue vulnerable animals.”

Those at the event were also entertained by a Car and Sound Show, modelling competition and beauty contest, food stalls as well as live entertainment from various artists.
