High-lying areas might lose water pressure from Nov 15 to 17, warns RWCLM

Brace yourselves for either low water pressure or none at all due to Rand Water's planned maintenance from November 15 to 17.

Rand West City Local Municipality (RWCLM) warns residents in especially high-lying areas of losing a significant amount of water pressure or getting largely reduced water supply, or none at all during a 54-hour planned water interruption by Rand Water from Monday November 15 to Wednesday November 17.

In a public notice issued by the municipality, RWCLM spokesperson Phillip Montshiwa said, “While the municipality does not expect a total loss of water throughout its areas due to this maintenance, it can be confirmed that a considerable amount of water pressure will be lost which may result in total loss of water supply in high-lying areas for the said duration,” Montshiwa said.

He urged residents to prepare by storing water for this period.

“The municipality is on high alert to ensure that our reservoirs are always at an acceptable level of water capacity. You cooperation in this regard will be appreciated. Once again, we apologise for the inconvenience,” Montshiwa said.
