A total of 6 251 119 Covid-19 vaccinations have been administered in the Gauteng Province as of November 8. The total number of individuals vaccinated is at 4 096 045 with 3 190 724 individuals being fully vaccinated.
In the West Rand, which comprises of Mogale City, Rand West City and Merafong City, 412 199 vaccinations have been administered, with 207 003 individuals fully vaccinated.
In the neighbouring City of Johannesburg, 2 734 468 vaccines have been administered with 1 349 258 individuals fully vaccinated.
All persons older than 12 years old are encouraged to visit their nearest vaccination site to receive the jab. It is thought that vaccinating 70% or more of the adult population can minimise the impact of the fourth wave.
