‘I can’t wait to come back’ – DA party leader after visiting Uncle Harry’s

Democratic Alliance (DA) leader John Steenhuisen recently paid the West Rand a visit. His place of choice? Uncle Harry's Roadhouse in Randfontein!

Randfontein was painted blue on Sunday, October 24 when John Steenhuisen, leader of the Democratic Alliance (DA) paid the town a visit as part of his election campaign.

His first stop? The famous Uncle Harry’s Roadhouse where he also met with his party’s councillors.

When the Herald asked him about the reasons for his visit to Randfontein, he replied, “The visit is part of our election campaign. We are trying to convince voters to give the DA a majority to govern.”

He described the Randfontein residents as “… wonderful people who deserve a government that delivers for them”.

During his visit to Toekomsrus, Steenhuisen said, “I was shocked at the disgusting state of the stadium which is depriving children and athletes of the opportunity to play sport. It’s clear that the council has forgotten about the people of the area. They need to vote for the DA so that we can get things done.”

Steenhuisen said it was also his first visit to Uncle Harry’s and that it was a real treat for him. He can’t wait to come back.
