Another five serious incidents this past week – Mapogo crime report

Mapogo released its latest crime report for the period from Monday, October 18 to Sunday, October 24 – from gate motor theft in Tenacres to theft out of a motor vehicle in Greenhills.

It was a relatively busy week for Mapogo A Mathamaga Security with numerous incidents being reported in Randfontein.

Operations manager at Mapogo, Ben Willemse said five incidents were reported for their client base for the period between Monday, October 18 and Sunday, October 24.

A breakdown of the crime incidents:

• Monday, October 18 at 03:40 – Theft out of a motor vehicle on Owl Street, Greenhills: Intruders entered the owner’s property, broke the vehicle window, stole a handbag and other loose items from the vehicle, and fled the scene.

• Thursday, October 21 at 07:42 – Gate motor theft on Road 1 in Tenacres: Contact was made with the owner of the property who confirmed that his gate motor had been stolen during the evening.

• Thursday, October 21 at 08:17 – Theft on Dodge Street, Aureus: Intruders entered the premises during the evening, stole tools from the external work area, and fled the scene.

• Thursday, October 21 at 10:46 – Shoplifting and an arrest on Main Road, Randfontein CBD: Two males were caught and arrested for stealing a Bluetooth speaker from the shop.

• Friday, October 22 at 05:15 – Housebreaking and theft on Elaine Street, Homelake: Thugs jumped over the front wall and proceeded to the garage where they forced open the door, and stole a bicycle and tools, and fled the scene.
