A total of 5 428 738 Covid-19 vaccinations have been administered in the Gauteng Province as at October 18. The total number of individuals vaccinated are at 3 682 935 with 2 668 616 individuals being fully vaccinated.
In the West Rand, which comprises of Mogale City, Rand West City and Merafong City, 349 188 vaccinations have been administered, with 167 999 individuals fully vaccinated. According to the Gauteng Provincial Government, the population of the West Rand now stands at 686 355.
In the neighbouring City of Johannesburg, 2 390 971 vaccines have been administered with 1 135 020 individuals fully vaccinated. The population of Johannesburg stands at 4 360 765.

- 18 to 34 years: Out of a population of 5 196 154, 504 433 individuals have been fully vaccinated
- 35 to 49 years: Out of a population of 13 441 983, 993 665 individuals have been fully vaccinated
- 50 to 59 years: Out of a population of 1 330 500, 541 156 individuals have been fully vaccinated
- 60+ years: Out of a population of 1 342 689, 629 058 individuals have been fully vaccinated
