Petrol heads and their kids flocked to Loumarina for a Halloween-themed Car Show on Saturday October 16.
Coordinator of the car show and co-owner of Fired Events, Carmen Botha said at least 20 car owners showed off their vehicles and shared with the community their vehicles’ power, style and upgrades.
Carmen also said the event attracted various petrolheads and gave many families an opportunity for an outing – especially considering that we’ve just come out of strict lockdown.
“Our purpose was not just to help people with their sound systems, see what they were capable of in terms of their decibels and give them further guidance on how they could improve on their sound quality, but also with the looks of their engines and vehicles,” Carmen said.
The day wasn’t only about Halloween or cars, but children also had their fair share of fun – some even came dressed according to the theme and got prizes.
“While the dads were feasting their eyes on some of the spectacular cars, children had fun on the jumping castles, swimming and playing on the swings,” Carmen added.
Attendees admired some vintage cars like the Mini Copper Leyland 1977 model that was driven by Rowan Atkinson when he played the role of the famous Mr Bean; 1998 Alfa Romeo Spider – 24 years with original parts and just 167 000km on it; or the 1986 Mercedes-Benz 260SE with a modified 4.0 litre engine.
“We would like to thank Die Windpomp for their hospitality and allowing us to host the event at their premises. Thank you to everybody who came to support us, and we hope to see you again at our next shows,” Carmen said.
