It was a relatively quiet week for Mapogo A Mathamaga Security with only one incident being reported for their client base.

According to Ben Willemse, Operations Manager at Mapogo, the incident was reported for the period between Monday, October 11 and Sunday, October 17.

A breakdown of the crime incident:

• Friday, October 15 at 23:02 – Housebreaking and theft, Bettie Street, Elandsvlei. The Mapogo control room received a call from a non-client on Bettie Street, Elandsvlei and requested assistance. On the arrival of Mapogo Response Officers at the premises it was established that an unknown number of intruders had entered the premises, forced open the sliding door, stole a cell phone and a laptop computer from the house, and fled the scene.

He gave the following advice:

• Stay vigilant; criminals never sleep and focus on soft targets.
• Always ensure that your alarm system is in a fully operational condition.
• Avoid false alarm signals as this can jeopardise response times to clients that are in need of urgent assistance.

Silly season is approaching fast, so service your alarm system prior to going on leave. Mapogo constantly focuses on crime drives and high visibility. Although incidents for the Mapogo team were down the community and all our clients will remain our first priority,” said Willemse.
