Where to get tested and vaccinated in Rand West City this week

The West Rand District Health Department is once again inviting the community to get free Covid-19 tests done at their sites this week. Everyone aged 18 and older can get vaccinated on Saturdays as well.

The department’s communications officer, Nomagugu Hloma said in addition to the coronavirus tests, HIV, TB and blood pressure tests will be done for free this week from Sunday, October 10 to Saturday, October 16.

The sites are operational from 09:00 to 15:00.

Planned sites for screening and testing:

• Mohlakeng Ponas (Ward 14)

• Mohlakeng Ext 11 (Ward 11)

• Eureka (Ward 9)

• Block A Robinson (Ward 9)

• Busmark (Ward 7)

• Village Square Mall (Ward 5)

• Kloof No. 1 Makhalanjalo (Ward 23)

• Westonaria Borwa Phase 1 (Ward 26)

• Venterspos Farms (Ward 25)

• Waterpan (Ward 28)

• Thusanang Farms (Ward 30)

• Glenhavie Plots (23)

• Bekkersdal taxi rank (Ward 33)

Vaccinations will be done at the following sites:

• Monday, October 11 at Mohlakeng Ext 11 (Ya Rona Clinic) and Westonaria Borwa Phase 1 (Westonaria Clinic)
• Tuesday, October 12 at Eureka (Randgate Clinic) and Venterspos farms ( Venterspos Clinic)
• Wednesday, October 13 at Block A Robinson (Randgate Clinic) and Waterpan (Simunye Clinic)
• Thursday, October 14 at Busmark (Randgate Clinic) and Thusanang farms (Thusanang West Clinic)
• Friday, October 15 at Glenharvie plots (Glenharvie Clinic) and Busmark (Randgate Clinic)
• Saturday, October 16 at Village Square Mall (ML Pessen Clinic) and Bekkersdal taxi rank (Bekkersdal West Clinic)

Hloma said on the other days residents can get tested at their local clinics and healthcare facilities.

They are urging people who are 18 and older to get vaccinated on Saturdays. Walk-ins are accepted in Gauteng, and all you need to get your jab is your ID or other specified proof of identity.
