Active Covid-19 cases in Rand West City down to 12

The total number of active Covid-19 cases in the West Rand is at 70 according to the latest report by the Gauteng Provincial Government.

According to the latest report issued by the Gauteng Provincial Government, the number of confirmed Covid-19 cases in Rand West City stood at 14 267. A total of 13 741 people have recovered so far. There has been 514 Covid-19 related deaths. This brings the total number of active cases in the area to 12.

Mogale City and Merafong City, which are also part of the West Rand District, have had 29 366 and 10 154 cases respectively. Mogale City and Merafong City have seen 28 517 and 9 773 recoveries respectively.

The total number of Covid-19 cases reported in the West Rand District is 53 794 with 1 691 deaths and 52 033 recoveries. This brings the total number of active cases in the District to 70.

In the neighbouring City of Johannesburg Metropolitan Municipality Region C, which comprises Roodepoort, the number of confirmed cases to date stands at 52 874 and 52 067 recoveries.

The total number of confirmed Covid-19 cases in Gauteng was standing at 915 527 with 893 859 recoveries and 19 302 deaths. This translates to 2 366 active cases within the Province.
