Vaccination, testing around Rand West City: Where to go
The community can get tests done and be vaccinated against Covid-19 in the following areas between September 20 and September 25.
The West Rand District Health Department is once again inviting the community to get free Covid-19 tests done at their sites this week.
Everyone aged 18 and older can get vaccinated on Saturdays as well.
The department’s communications officer Nomagugu Hloma said in addition to the coronavirus tests, HIV, TB and blood pressure tests will also be done for free this week from September 20 to 25. The sites are operational from 09:00 to 15:00.
Testing will be done at the following sites the whole week:
• Avantè Primary School (Ward 2)
• Kgothalang Primary School (Ward 32)
• Greenhills Stadium
• Moses-Rehab Centre
• Brandvlei OR Tambo (Ward 9)
• Zuurbekom West End Clay (Ward 17)
• Dumping site (Ward 6)
• Zenzele (Ward 12)
• Bekkersdal Silver City (Ward 33)
• Westonaria Retailing Company (Ward 26)
• Thusanang Papalala (Ward 30)
• Borwa Taxi Rank (Ward 26)
• Simunye Big Circle (Ward 28)
Vaccinations will be done at the following sites:
• Monday, September 20 at Bekkersdal Silver City (Ward 33)
• Tuesday, September 21 at Bekkersdal Silver City (Ward 33) and Brandvlei OR Tambo (Ward 9)
• Wednesday, September 22 at Zuurbekom West End Clay (Ward 17) and Dumping site (Ward 6)
• Thursday, September 23 at Zenzele (Ward 12)
• Friday, September 24 at Borwa Taxi rank (Ward 26)
• Saturday, September 25 at Simunye Big Circle (Ward 28)
On other days residents can get tested at their local clinics and healthcare facilities.
Weekend vaccination sites are now also open in Rand West City on Saturdays from 09:00 to 13:00 at Greenhills Stadium, the Westonaria Banquet Hall and Ramosa Hall in Mohlakeng.
People who are 18 and older are urged to get vaccinated on Saturdays. Walk-ins are accepted in Gauteng, and all you need to get your jab is your ID or other specified proof of identity.
