Active Covid-19 cases in Rand West City down to 22

The total number of active Covid-19 cases in the West Rand is at 141 according to the latest report by the Gauteng Provincial Government.

According to the latest report issued by the Gauteng Provincial Government, the number of confirmed Covid-19 cases in Rand West City stood at 14 244. A total of 13 708 people have recovered so far. There has been 514 Covid-19 related deaths. This brings the total number of active cases in the area to 22.

Mogale City and Merafong City, which are also part of the West Rand District, have had 29 319 and 10 134 cases respectively. Mogale City and Merafong City have seen 28 441 and 9 725 recoveries respectively.

The total number of Covid-19 cases reported in the West Rand District is 53 704 with 1 687 deaths and 51 876 recoveries. This brings the total number of active cases in the District to 141.

In the neighbouring City of Johannesburg Metropolitan Municipality Region C, which comprises Roodepoort, the number of confirmed cases to date stands at 52 728 and 51 842 recoveries.

The total number of confirmed Covid-19 cases in Gauteng was standing at 912 004 with 889 137 recoveries and 19 068 deaths. This translates to 3 799 active cases within the Province.
