Community of Mohlakeng gets 400 food parcels thanks to Life Healthcare

Life Healthcare responded to the hunger crisis in the country by donating food parcels to vulnerable communities.

Four hundred food parcels consisting of non-perishables and high-protein food enough to feed a family of four for weeks were delivered in Mohlakeng on Monday, September 6.

As part of their Mandela Month initiatives, private hospital group Life Healthcare donated food parcels to vulnerable communities in Gauteng, the Eastern Cape and KwaZulu-Natal.

According to Ansuyiah Padayachee, community and external affairs manager at Life Healthcare Group, the initiative was most appropriate and came at a time when the country experienced the third wave of the Covid-19 pandemic, civil unrest and job losses.

“Our purpose at Life Healthcare remains making life better, and being able to provide support and aid to vulnerable communities is one of the ways we can live this purpose. The Covid-19 pandemic and the unrest across our country have created a greater need for hunger alleviation, and the support that we can provide will go a long way in assisting South Africans during these trying and hard times,” Ansuyiah said.
