Active Covid-19 cases in Rand West City down to 34

The total number of active Covid-19 cases in the West Rand is at 190 according to the latest report by the Gauteng Provincial Government.

According to the latest report issued by the Gauteng Provincial Government, the number of confirmed Covid-19 cases in Rand West City stood at 14 227. A total of 13 680 people have recovered so far. There has been 513 Covid-19 related deaths. This brings the total number of active cases in the area to 34.

Mogale City and Merafong City, which are also part of the West Rand District, have had 29 249 and 10 103 cases respectively. Mogale City and Merafong City have seen 28 356 and 9 675 recoveries respectively.

The total number of Covid-19 cases reported in the West Rand District is 53 586 with 1 683 deaths and 51 713 recoveries. This brings the total number of active cases in the District to 190.

In the neighbouring City of Johannesburg Metropolitan Municipality Region C, which comprises Roodepoort, the number of confirmed cases to date stands at 52 573 and 51 639 recoveries.

The total number of confirmed Covid-19 cases in Gauteng was standing at 908 930 with 884 939 recoveries and 18 869 deaths. This translates to 5 122 active cases within the Province.
