Woman, 94, shot dead in Kalbasfontein

Gauteng Police spokesperson said the incident in which a woman aged 94 was shot and killed was not a farm attack, and that house robbery and murder were being investigated.

A 94-year-old woman was shot and killed in Kalbasfontein near Westonaria on Friday night, August 27.

Police are investigating a case of murder.

Although the first reports indicated that it was a farm attack, Gauteng Police spokesperson Captain Kay Makhubela denied it, saying a case of murder had since been opened but that no arrests had been made.

It’s a house robbery, not a farm attack,” Makhubela added.

Westonaria Police spokesperson Sergeant Audrey Sefara said anyone with any information pertaining to the matter should contact the police on 011 278 5395/ 96, or alternatively call the Crime Stop line on 08600 10111.
