Cyclist dies when struck by vehicle
ER24 reported that on Sunday, August 22, a man died when hit by a car.
A cyclist reportedly died when he was knocked down by a light motor vehicle on Sunday, August 22 on the R559 outside Rikasrus.
The man is believed to be in his 30s or 40s.
According to Ross Campbell, ER24 spokesperson, their paramedics arrived on the scene at 13:24, with Provincial EMS already on scene.
“The man who was lying on the side of the road had unfortunately suffered fatal injuries and was declared dead by the provincial services,” said Campbell.
He added that the 44-year-old driver was found dazed and still sitting in his car.
“The driver had suffered moderate injuries, and was treated and transported to hospital by ER24 for further care.”
Campbell noted that the Community Policing Forum members were also on the scene.
