Rand West City reports 64 active Covid-19 cases

The total number of active Covid-19 cases in the West Rand is at 458 according to the latest report by the Gauteng Provincial Government.

According to the latest report issued by the Gauteng Provincial Government, the number of confirmed Covid-19 cases in Rand West City stood at 14 097. A total of 13 527 people have recovered so far. There has been 506 Covid-19 related deaths. This brings the total number of active cases in the area to 64.

Mogale City and Merafong City, which are also part of the West Rand District, have had 28 877 and 9 928 cases respectively. Mogale City and Merafong City have seen 27 792 and 9 482 recoveries respectively.

The total number of Covid-19 cases reported in the West Rand District is 52 909 with 1 648 deaths and 50 803 recoveries. This brings the total number of active cases in the District to 458.

In the neighbouring City of Johannesburg Metropolitan Municipality Region C, which comprises Roodepoort, the number of confirmed cases to date stands at 51 709 and 50 357 recoveries.

The total number of confirmed Covid-19 cases in Gauteng was standing at 890 969 with 860 526 recoveries and 18 200 deaths. This translates to 12 243 active cases within the Province.
