Active Covid-19 cases in Rand West City down to 102

According to the latest report issued by the Gauteng Provincial Government, the number of confirmed Covid-19 cases in Rand West City stood at 14 087. A total of 13 480 people have recovered so far. There has been 505 Covid-19 related deaths. This brings the total number of active cases in the area to 102.

Mogale City and Merafong City, which are also part of the West Rand District, have had 28 782 and 9 907 cases respectively. Mogale City and Merafong City have seen 27 680 and 9 413 recoveries respectively.

The total number of Covid-19 cases reported in the West Rand District is 52 783 with 1 638 deaths and 50 575 recoveries. This brings the total number of active cases in the District to 570.

In the neighbouring City of Johannesburg Metropolitan Municipality Region C, which comprises Roodepoort, the number of confirmed cases to date stands at 51 538 and 50 030 recoveries.

The total number of confirmed Covid-19 cases in Gauteng was standing at 887 921 with 854 186 recoveries and 18 011 deaths. This translates to 15 724 active cases within the Province.
