In July the Randfontein Publicity Association (RPA) re-launched the We Salute You Campaign where they invited the public to submit nominations for their community hero. They are looking for people who go above and beyond the call of duty, and give something back to society without asking for anything in return.
The campaign will run over several months, and winners will be announced towards the end of November.
“This campaign will acknowledge the good deeds of exceptional people, and create an awareness of what they do or have done,” said RPA publicity officer Joy Hamann.
Over the next few months nominees will be featured on the RPA Facebook page and website.
“So far we have received several nominations, but we know there are many more people out there who make a difference; and we want to hear all about them! It’s not how many nominations any one person receives – it’s the difference they make in their community. An independent panel of judges will judge the nominees on merit.”
