Active Covid-19 cases in Rand West City down to 185

According to the latest report issued by the Gauteng Provincial Government, the number of confirmed Covid-19 cases in Rand West City stood at 13 938. A total of 13 266 people have recovered so far. There has been 487 Covid-19 related deaths. This brings the total number of active cases in the area to 185.

Mogale City and Merafong City, which are also part of the West Rand District, have had 26 986 and 9 701 cases respectively. Mogale City and Merafong City have seen 28 324 and 9 170 recoveries respectively.

The total number of Covid-19 cases reported in the West Rand District is 51 970 with 1 585 deaths and 49 424 recoveries. This brings the total number of active cases in the District to 961.

In the neighbouring City of Johannesburg Metropolitan Municipality Region C, which comprises Roodepoort, the number of confirmed cases to date stands at 50 465 and 48 405 recoveries.

The total number of confirmed Covid-19 cases in Gauteng was standing at 866 786 with 826 138 recoveries and 17 222 deaths. This translates to 23 426 active cases within the Province.
