Number of active Covid-19 cases in Rand West City down to 251

According to the latest report issued by the Gauteng Provincial Government, the number of confirmed Covid-19 cases in Rand West City stood at 13 895. A total of 13 163 people have recovered so far. There has been 481 Covid-19 related deaths. This brings the total number of active cases in the area to 251.

Mogale City and Merafong City, which are also part of the West Rand District, have had 28 203 and 9 658 cases respectively. Mogale City and Merafong City have seen 26 745 and 9 046 recoveries respectively.

The total number of Covid-19 cases reported in the West Rand District is 51 763 with 1 569 deaths and 48 956 recoveries. This brings the total number of active cases in the District to 1 238.

In the neighbouring City of Johannesburg Metropolitan Municipality Region C, which comprises Roodepoort, the number of confirmed cases to date stands at 50 139 and 47 865 recoveries.

The total number of confirmed Covid-19 cases in Gauteng was standing at 861 539 with 815 594 recoveries and 16 922 deaths. This translates to 29 023 active cases within the Province.
