Rand West City reports 260 active Covid-19 cases

According to the latest report issued by the Gauteng Provincial Government, the number of confirmed Covid-19 cases in Rand West City stood at 13 807. A total of 13 073 people have recovered so far. There has been 474 Covid-19 related deaths. This brings the total number of active cases in the area to 260.

Mogale City and Merafong City, which are also part of the West Rand District, have had 27 962 and 9 587 cases respectively. Mogale City and Merafong City have seen 26 441 and 8 863 recoveries respectively.

The total number of Covid-19 cases reported in the West Rand District is 51 363 with 1 550 deaths and 48 379 recoveries. This brings the total number of active cases in the District to 1 434.

In the neighbouring City of Johannesburg Metropolitan Municipality Region C, which comprises Roodepoort, the number of confirmed cases to date stands at 49 552 and 47 109 recoveries.

The total number of confirmed Covid-19 cases in Gauteng was standing at 852 202 with 802 812 recoveries and 16 679 deaths. This translates to 32 711 active cases within the Province.
