Local MP gets her first jab

Community leader and Member of Parliament, Jane Mananiso got her first Covid-19 jab at the Ramosa Hall in Mohlakeng recently.

Community leader and Member of Parliament, Jane Mananiso got her first shot of the Covid-19 vaccine at the Ramosa Hall in Mohlakeng on Tuesday, July 27.

Mananiso, who got her jab alongside other Rand West City residents, said she chose to vaccinate because of the simple principle that prevention is better than cure.

She added that one has to do one’s bit to be a part of the solution, in the hopes that things will return to normal.

“The principle here is about saving yourself, and the lives of many others,” Mananiso added.

Part of her vaccination campaign is to refute unconfirmed myths about the vaccine by choosing to lead by example, and practising what she’s been advocating – the need to vaccinate against the virus.

“While waiting in the queue, I also interacted with some of the community members, many of whom were excited to get their jabs.”

She said the vaccination process was smooth, and also thanked Community Development Workers, who she said assisted those in the queue to process their online registrations by using smart devices.

“Those who had registered also got vaccinated. I believe no person should be left out, as vaccination is another way of reviving our socioeconomic state,” Mananiso said.
