Active Covid-19 cases in Rand West City now at 469

According to the latest report issued by the Gauteng Provincial Government, the number of confirmed Covid-19 cases in Rand West City stood at 13 536. A total of 12 611 people have recovered so far. There has been 456 Covid-19 related deaths. This brings the total number of active cases in the area to 469.

Mogale City and Merafong City, which are also part of the West Rand District, have had 27 463 and 9 298 cases respectively. Mogale City and Merafong City have seen 25 467 and 8 388 recoveries respectively.

The total number of Covid-19 cases reported in the West Rand District is 50 304 with 1 474 deaths and 46 468 recoveries. This brings the total number of active cases in the District to 2 362.

In the neighbouring City of Johannesburg Metropolitan Municipality Region C, which comprises Roodepoort, the number of confirmed cases to date stands at 48 086 and 44 887 recoveries.

The total number of confirmed Covid-19 cases in Gauteng was standing at 827 393 with 765 240 recoveries and 15 762 deaths. This translates to 46 391 active cases within the Province.
