Decline in active Covid-19 cases in Rand West City – now at 556

The total number of active Covid-19 cases in the West Rand is at 2 510 according to the latest report by the Gauteng Provincial Government.

According to the latest report issued by the Gauteng Provincial Government, the number of confirmed Covid-19 cases in Rand West City stood at 13 481. A total of 12 480 people have recovered so far. There has been 445 Covid-19 related deaths. This brings the total number of active cases in the area to 556.

Mogale City and Merafong City, which are also part of the West Rand District, have had 27 219 and 9 188 cases respectively. Mogale City and Merafong City have seen 25 144 and 8 310 recoveries respectively.

The total number of Covid-19 cases reported in the West Rand District is 49 895 with 1 449 deaths and 45 936 recoveries. This brings the total number of active cases in the District to 2 510.

In the neighbouring City of Johannesburg Metropolitan Municipality Region C, which comprises Roodepoort, the number of confirmed cases to date stands at 47 629 and 43 974 recoveries.

The total number of confirmed Covid-19 cases in Gauteng was standing at 818 859 with 751 803 recoveries and 15 482 deaths. This translates to 51 574 active cases within the Province.
