Another seven incidents this past week – Mapogo crime report

Mapogo released its latest crime report for the period from July 12 to July 18 – from a theft in Westergloor to attempted housebreaking in Hectorton.

It was another busy week for Mapogo A Mathamaga Security with numerous incidents being reported in Randfontein.

Operations manager at Mapogo, Ben Willemse said seven incidents were reported for their client base for the period Monday, July 12 to Sunday, July 18.

A breakdown of the crime incidents:

• Monday, July 12 at 13:42 – Housebreaking and theft on Lelie Street, Homelake. Intruder climbed over front gate and stole items in the back rooms.

• Monday, July 12 at 15:40 – Housebreaking and theft on Drakenstein Street, Culemborg Park. Mapogo was contacted by the client for assistance. A positive break-in was discovered and household items had been taken.

• Tuesday, July 13 at 10:45 – Theft of a gate motor on Cederberg Street, Finsbury. The client requested assistance from Mapogo officers as their gate motor had been stolen during the evening.

• Tuesday, July 13 at 07:37 – Theft on Potgieter Street, Westergloor. Thieves stole two CCTV cameras on the outside of the premises, and three cases of beer inside, and fled the scene.

• Thursday, July 15 at 22:48 – Medical emergency on Du Toit Street, Randpoort. Client requested assistance from Mapogo as her husband was not breathing. It was found that the client’s husband had passed away. Our condolences go out to the family for their loss.

• Friday, July 16 at 14:53 – Housebreaking and theft on Viljoen Street, Randpoort. The neighbour pressed his panic button for assistance. On arrival the premises was inspected and a break-in was discovered. Thieves stole two flat-screen TVs, a laptop computer and a gaming console.

• Sunday, July 18 at 19:34 – Attempted housebreaking on 11th Street, Hectorton. Intruders climbed over the premises wall and attempted to break into the workshop at the back of the premises.
