Covid-19 claims the life of another resident, business owner

Co-owner and founder of the Heidi & Peter Early Childhood Development Centre has died aged 72.

Thys de Beer, co-owner and founder of the Heidi & Peter Early Childhood Development Centre has died at the age of 72.

According to his wife, Rechelle, who has been married to Thys for 16 years, he passed away due to Covid-19 at his home on Saturday morning, July 10.

Rechelle explained that her husband had been unwell and was on oxygen at home. Both of them were in isolation for 10 days.

“Unfortunately, he took his last breath early that morning. I can’t believe he’s gone,” the distraught widow said.

Thys will be laid to rest at the Sterkfontein Cemetery in Krugersdorp on Friday morning, July 16.
