Three women were robbed and raped by three armed robbers along the N12 near Bekkersdal earlier this month.

Bekkersal Police spokesperson, Sergeant Linkie Lefakane confirmed the victims were robbed of their cellphones and cash before the robbers took turns to rape them.

“All the thugs were wearing balaclavas and could not be identified by the victims; however, rape cases were opened. Investigations into the matter are ongoing,” Lefakane added.
