Rand West City reports 1 580 active Covid-19 cases with 318 deaths
The total number of active Covid-19 cases in the West Rand is at 5 372 according to the latest report by the Gauteng Provincial Government.
According to the latest report issued by the Gauteng Provincial Government, the number of confirmed Covid-19 cases in Rand West City stood at 11 212. A total of 9 314 people have recovered so far. There has been 318 Covid-19 related deaths. This brings the total number of active cases in the area to 1 580.
Mogale City and Merafong City, which are also part of the West Rand District, have had 21 359 and 7 142 cases respectively. Mogale City and Merafong City have seen 17 714 and 6 213 recoveries respectively.
The total number of Covid-19 cases reported in the West Rand District is 39 720 with 1 105 deaths and 33 243 recoveries. This brings the total number of active cases in the District to 5 372.

In the neighbouring City of Johannesburg Metropolitan Municipality Region C, which comprises Roodepoort, the number of confirmed cases to date stands at 35 446 and 29 183 recoveries.
The total number of confirmed Covid-19 cases in Gauteng was standing at 629 399 with 535 353 recoveries and 12 647 deaths. This translates to 81 399 active cases within the Province.
