Active Covid-19 cases in Rand West City near the 1 000 mark

According to the latest report issued by the Gauteng Provincial Government, the number of confirmed Covid-19 cases in Rand West City stood at 8 788. A total of 7 575 people have recovered so far. There has been 256 Covid-19 related deaths. This brings the total number of active cases in the area to 957.

Mogale City and Merafong City, which are also part of the West Rand District, have had 16 534 and 6 126 cases respectively. Mogale City and Merafong City have seen 14 251 and 5 515 recoveries respectively.

The total number of Covid-19 cases reported in the West Rand District is 31 455 with 949 deaths and 27 343 recoveries. This brings the total number of active cases in the District to 3 163.

In the neighbouring City of Johannesburg Metropolitan Municipality Region C, which comprises Roodepoort, the number of confirmed cases to date stands at 27 281 and 23 834 recoveries.

The total number of confirmed Covid-19 cases in Gauteng was standing at 514 486 with 463 068 recoveries and 11 793 deaths. This translates to 39 625 active cases within the Province.
