Members of the Myburgh Foundation, a non-profit organisation (NPO) are doing what they can to help everyone, including vulnerable children in their community.

On Monday, June 7 they officially opened their first place of safety in Toekomsrus to accommodate abused, neglected and abandoned kids who are in need of care and protection in terms of the Children’s Act 38 of 2005.

Myburgh Foundation founder and operations manager, Randy Christian said Cindy Haywood-Christian, the centre manager as well as Valery Olien, shelter mother, and Kisten Leslie, auxiliary social worker are delighted to be part of this humanitarian initiative of caring and protecting the rights and interests of society’s most vulnerable members.

“The place of safety will cater for the needs of vulnerable children within Rand West City, and is based in Toekomsrus.”

The place of safety will prioritise the children’s physical, psychological, spiritual and nutritional well-being.

“Strong partnerships with the police, Department of Social Development, and the Children’s Court will ensure that we bring positive changes to the lives of the needy, and guide all who come through our doors towards becoming God-fearing, productive members of society.”
