Active Covid-19 cases in Rand West City nears the 500 mark

The total number of active Covid-19 cases in the West Rand is at 1 527 according to the latest report by the Gauteng Provincial Government.

According to the latest report issued by the Gauteng Provincial Government, the number of confirmed Covid-19 cases in Rand West City stood at 7 891. A total of 7 206 people have recovered so far. There has been 243 Covid-19 related deaths. This brings the total number of active cases in the area to 442.

Mogale City and Merafong City, which are also part of the West Rand District, have had 14 846 and 5 776 cases respectively. Mogale City and Merafong City have seen 13 504 and 5 378 recoveries respectively.

The total number of Covid-19 cases reported in the West Rand District is 28 520 with 903 deaths and 26 090 recoveries. This brings the total number of active cases in the District to 1 527.

In the neighbouring City of Johannesburg Metropolitan Municipality Region C, which comprises Roodepoort, the number of confirmed cases to date stands at 24 602 and 22 637 recoveries.

The total number of confirmed Covid-19 cases in Gauteng was standing at 479 005 with 445 569 recoveries and 11 481 deaths. This translates to 21 955 active cases within the Province.
